The Master of Science Degree in Mobile and Wireless Communications at Midlands State University builds knowledge in wireless communications at both physical and network layers. Students study Mobile Communication Systems, Radio Access Networks, Data Communication and Networking, Mobile Network Protocols, Simulation of Mobile Communications, Wireless Transceiver Design and Implementation, RF Engineering, and Advanced Research Methods.
Learning includes research and technical modules such as Simulation of Mobile Communications using MATLAB, wireless transceiver design and implementation topics, and RF and microwave fundamentals including s-parameters and amplifier design. The programme structure includes Level 1 modules, then Level 2 modules that are chosen from 5G and Future networks, Broadband Wireless Communications, Advanced Digital Signal Processing, Multiple Antenna Systems, Modelling and Performance, and Communication technologies for Internet of Things (IoT). A dissertation is completed in Level 2 Semester 2.
Prospective students must hold at least a good first degree in communication engineering, electronic engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering or a closely related subject from any university recognized by Midlands State University.
