The Master of Science Degree in Sports Management at Bindura University of Science Education is designed to develop graduates’ knowledge and skills in sports management and to strengthen conceptual and entrepreneurial skills for the Zimbabwean sports industry. Students study Managing the Sports Enterprise, Sport Finance and Economics, Strategic Sports Marketing, and Advanced Corporate Governance in Sport, plus Research Methods in Sport. Level I also includes Sports Law and Public Policy, Strategic Sports Management, Human Capital Management in Sport, Information Communication Technology in Sport, and Sport Entrepreneurship and Project Management.
The programme runs for 1 and 1/2 Years and uses a credit load range of 325 to 375. It includes Level II components: SM500 Dissertation and SM510 Sports Management Practicum. Module work includes lectures, practical work, tutorials, and notional hours, with a grand total of 3750 credits across the programme.
On completion, graduates are prepared for careers in sport management, including running sports entrepreneurial ventures, offering sports management consultant services, lecturing in institutions of higher learning, and working as sports managers in private and public sports enterprises and sports governing bodies. Further education is Doctoral Studies in Sports Management.
