The Master of Technology Degree in Polymer Process Engineering at Harare Institute of Technology develops analytical, design, and research techniques for exploring and processing polymers. Students study polymer processing, process optimization, process management, product development and design, rubber technology, packaging technology, and other polymer applications with their manufacturing technologies.
The programme is structured across semesters I to IV with core modules such as Polymer Chemistry, Plastic Processing technology, Polymer Additives and Compounding, Polymer Product and Mould design, Polymer synthesis Laboratory, and Applied research methods. Laboratory modules include Polymer synthesis Laboratory, Polymer processing and machine shop laboratory, and Polymer testing laboratory. The course includes a Project module in semester III and a Project module in semester IV.
