Introduction

Sijil Pengajian Tahfiz Al-Quran is a Diploma program taught at International Islamic College of Penang, Malaysia. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (1 year) options.

The International Islamic College of Penang offers the Sijil Pengajian Tahfiz Al-Quran, an alternative for students with one credit SPM who want to continue Tahfiz Al-Quran studies at the diploma level. The programme combines courses such as Asas Pengajian Al Quran, Pengajian Malaysia 1, Asas Bahasa Arab, Fiqh Al Ibadat, Aqidah Islamiah, Ulum Al Quran, and Ulum Al Hadith.

Study lasts 4 semesters (1 year 4 months). Students take required courses and then progress through core and major courses including Adab Hamalah Al Quran, Hifz Al Quran 1-5 (Syafawi), Hifz Al Quran Tahriri 1, Ilmu Tajwid, Teknologi Maklumat, Academic English, and Asas Ilmu Qiraat. Admission includes an interview reading and memorisation test.

Admission Requirements

The minimum requirements for admission in Sijil Pengajian Tahfiz Al-Quran at International Islamic College of Penang for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:

program specific academic requirment set by International Islamic College of Penang.
English Language OR any other language requirments as set by International Islamic College of Penang as pre-requiste for admission in Sijil Pengajian Tahfiz Al-Quran.

Must have one of the following:

Have Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or its equivalent with one credit in any subject; or
Pass Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) Level 2 in a related field and have SPM qualifications plus pass Bahasa Melayu and Sejarah in the SPM examination; or
Pass Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with at least Grade B in one subject; or
Other qualifications recognised as equivalent by the Malaysian Government.

Additional requirement: pass the interview reading test and hafazan (Quran memorisation).
