Introduction

Psychology is a Bachelor program taught at Bennington College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.

In Psychology at Bennington College, students study how mind and behavior relate, and how theories and generalizations describe the scope and limits of human behavior. Some courses emphasize understanding generalizations made by others, while other courses emphasize the process of research, where students make their own generalizations. Across both types of courses, students learn to read, understand, and critically evaluate published psychological work, and to write convincing, non-prejudicial arguments.

Students also learn to apply ethical standards to research and theory in psychology. Bennington students work closely with faculty to design the content, structure, and sequence of their study and practice through an individual Plan. They use resources inside and outside the classroom as they complete their work. Students may apply psychological studies in interdisciplinary ways, such as using clinical psychology in creative writing or using social psychology in documentary filmmaking or biology.
