This programme focuses on the efficient, environmentally friendly production and distribution of energy and related technologies. The main themes are energy efficiency and environmental sustainability. The studies cover physical phenomena related to energy technology, energy conversion, and machinery and equipment for energy conversion.
The degree is organised as a 3-year Bachelor of Science in Technology followed by a 2-year Master of Science in Technology. The studies combine mathematics, physics and chemistry. Students learn energy production methods such as solar, wind and thermal technologies, and the operation and safety of these systems.
The programme also covers nuclear power and nuclear safety. By the end of the programme, students can apply basic thermal engineering equations to energy conversion processes and describe the structure and operation of energy technology equipment such as boilers, turbines, compressors, fans and heat exchangers.
