This programme focuses on the efficient, environmentally friendly production and distribution of energy and related technologies. The studies cover the production, transmission, distribution and use of energy, and the main themes are efficient energy production and use, and environmental friendliness.
The training is based on three areas of expertise: physical phenomena related to energy technology, including policies that affect energy; energy conversion from one form to another; and machinery and equipment for energy conversion. The degree combines mathematics, physics and chemistry. Students study solar, wind and thermal technologies, as well as their operation and safety.
LUT University describes the Bachelor's Programme in Energy Technology as a double degree developed with Hebei University of Technology in China. Students who complete the degree requirements of both universities receive two degree certificates, from LUT and HEBUT. The entire degree is completed in Lahti, Finland.
