The Master of Science in Technology in Smart Energy Transition has two majors: Electrical Engineering and Energy Engineering. The programme covers smart grids, flexible energy systems, digitalisation, business studies, future market and business models, and elective subjects such as battery energy storages, microgrids, energy communities, smart cities, sector-coupling, data analytics, artificial intelligence, advanced communication technologies, cyber security, power electronic applications, powertrains, power plants, engines, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and renewable and low-carbon fuels.
The degree has 120 ECTS credits and can be completed in two years. It includes Major Studies in Electrical or Energy Engineering, Digitalisation, and Business Studies, or Applied Energy Technology for students with the Energy Engineering major. The thesis requires academic research and may include a literature review, empirical data collection and/or modelling and simulation, and analysis leading to conclusions.
