Infrastructural Engineer MSc

The Infrastructural Engineer MSc at Budapest University of Technology and Economics is an MSc in Infrastructure Engineering. Students choose between two specializations: Highway and Railway Engineering and Water and Hydro-Environmental Engineering. The program covers advanced topics in infrastructure engineering, including transportation networks, highway and railway structures, intelligent transportation systems, and economic and management aspects in the first specialization.

In the Water and Hydro-Environmental Engineering specialization, students study water and wastewater treatment, modeling of hydrosystems, hydromorphology, hydroinformatics, ecology, and water quality monitoring. The curriculum includes obligatory core subjects in Fundamental sciences; Infrastructural Engineering sciences; and Economic sciences, management, human sciences. Students also complete a Master Thesis Project and a specialization curriculum with optional subjects.

Minimum criteria: Certificate of BSc in Civil Engineering.

Steps: pre-evaluation of the submitted documents: quality of BSc diploma, quality of BSc transcript, obtained credits in the field of infrastructural engineering, additional evaluated aspects: quality of motivation letter, extra-curricular activities (e.g. involvement in education, research, publication activities, technical contests, additional language knowledge, etc.), if required: online written admission test and/or interview.

• Perform planning, construction, maintenance, and operation tasks in the civil engineering profession, with particular regard to infrastructure construction tasks.
• Perform planning and analysis of urban transport, road and rail transport systems or water utility systems, and apply methods of water management and operation of large water management facilities.
• Recognize and understand problems in infrastructure construction, formulate expert opinions, and develop solution strategies.
• Apply and further develop procedures used in the planning, construction and operation of infrastructural systems.
