Master in Life Sciences Chemieingenieurwesen

The Master in Life Sciences – Chemieingenieurwesen at the University of Applied Sciences Aargau (FHNW) is a Master of Science in Life Sciences. It combines (Bio-)Chemistry, pharmacy, and environmental technology with modern process engineering, including safety engineering and sustainability. Students deepen knowledge in (Bio-)Chemistry, pharmacy, and environmental technology; safety engineering and sustainability; process development and optimization; technological reflection with practical relevance; and digital tools and real-time data.

Study mode is full-time and part-time (work-related). Learning takes place through remote and in-person formats. The programme includes individual module choice, with elective options such as biotechnology, analytical chemistry, organic and supramolecular chemistry, and environmental technologies. The practical final project is an eight-month master thesis with an industry partner or in the Process Technology Center at the Hochschule für Life Sciences FHNW. A double degree option with partner universities is available, or the thesis can be completed abroad.
