The Bachelor of Commerce Honours Degree in Banking and Finance gives students a structured study of business and finance topics, including Financial Accounting, Business Law, Corporate Finance, Banking Theory and Practice, Treasury Management, Taxation, Research Methods, and Monetary Economics. Students also study research and project work through courses such as Industrial Attachment and Research Project, plus senior modules like Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management, Advanced Corporate Finance, and Risk Management and Derivative Securities.
The programme runs over four years and includes Part I, Part II, and Part IV as coursework semesters, plus Part III Industrial Attachment. Courses are assessed using coursework and written examinations. Industrial Attachment is assessed using supervisor reports, supervisor assessment visits, and student Industrial Training reports. The final assessment for each course uses coursework weightings of 30% and examinations of 70%.
