Master of Science Degree in Economics Msc Econ

The Master of Science Degree in Economics (MSc Econ) at Bindura University of Science Education develops specialized economic professionals with skills in critical thinking, quantitative reasoning, problem-solving, and communication. Students are expected to apply economic analysis to everyday problems, evaluate policy proposals, interpret statistical results, and conduct statistical analysis. The program also emphasizes written, oral, and graphical communication supported by evidence.

Teaching is organised into two parts with semesters. In Part 1, students select one specialization elective for their preferred area of specialization, then complete Semester 2 in a non-specialized or specialization-focused option, including Development Economics, Health Economics, or Financial Economics. Part 2 Semester 1 is under the Faculty of Commerce, with academic areas including the Department of Economics and related departments.

To qualify for normal entry into the Master of Science Degree in Economics including any of its specializations at Bindura University of Science Education, prospective students must, in addition to satisfying the minimum conditions prescribed under the General regulations, have obtained a good undergraduate degree in Economics, Development Studies, Finance, Health or their equivalent.
