The Master of Science Education in Biology (Block Release) is a postgraduate program that focuses on advanced study in botany, zoology, advanced biological science techniques, advanced genetics, and biotechnology applications. It also includes educational components such as trends in biology education, curriculum and pedagogical issues in biology, measurement and evaluation, educational technology, and educational management and leadership.
Learning is organised as Part I with Semester I and Semester II, followed by Part II Semester I. Students take advanced research methods and statistics, advanced biological science techniques, advanced genetics, and a dissertation in Part II. The program is delivered as a block release over 1 ½ years.
A good Bachelor of Science Education Honours Degree or Bachelor of Science Education Degree.
Equivalent qualifications that may be considered include: BSc General/BSc Honours with the Biology as a major plus a CE/DipEd or Grad. CE, PGDE.
