Bachelor's in Industrial Design

Industrial Design is a Bachelor program taught at Kanazawa College of Art, Japan. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.

Industrial Design at Kanazawa College of Art trains students to design and develop products for social needs. The program covers design for everyday items and furniture, electrical products, information devices, public goods, and automobiles. Students study tools and concepts through studio work and build understanding through materials processing and thinking processes. It also aims to develop designers, researchers, and educators with a focus on human understanding and challenge.

Learning is organised across Basic Training, Design Elements, Technical Knowledges, and Comprehensive Products. In the first year, students study basic form-making, expression, and technical subjects, including workshop processing such as metal, wood, plastics, and painting. In later years, students develop product elements, design processes, and concept-to-prototype workflows, including participation in industry-linked projects and company internships. The final year includes graduation work.

The minimum requirements for admission in Industrial Design at Kanazawa College of Art for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:

• program specific academic requirment set by Kanazawa College of Art.
• English Language OR any other language requirments as set by Kanazawa College of Art as pre-requiste for admission in Industrial Design.
