Bachelor's in Craft

Craft is a Bachelor program taught at Kanazawa College of Art, Japan. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.

Craft at Kanazawa College of Art is a bachelor’s program in Craft. In the early part of the program, students study traditional techniques and materials, with a focus on building knowledge and technical skills. In the later part, the program emphasizes expression and creativity through research based on specialized coursework.

The program keeps cross-course links across陶磁, 漆・木工, 金工, and 染織. It also includes study of modern craft through courses such as 現代工芸論I・II and design-focused subjects like デザイン演習I・II and デザインプロセス. Students complete studio practice through 工芸演習(陶磁、漆・漆・木工) and related exercises.

Learning combines in-class workshops and production-focused study, supported by activities such as 全体講演会 and 制作研究会. The curriculum includes学外活動 such as 地域工芸演習II（産地研修）, and students present work through a 卒業制作展. Graduates go on to employment with companies and institutions listed under進路, as well as工房・研修所.
