Introduction

Engineering Combined Plan is a Bachelor program taught at Bates College, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.

The Engineering Combined Plan programs let students study engineering while also engaging with the breadth and perspective of Bates’ liberal arts curriculum. Students complete foundational coursework in the liberal arts, mathematics, and sciences at Bates, then move into focused engineering study at a partner engineering institution.

Most programs run in a 3-2 format: students spend three years at Bates, apply to the partner in the winter of their junior year, and study engineering at the partner for two years. Students may also choose a 4-2 format, moving to the partner after completing four years at Bates. On completion, students earn two degrees: one from Bates and one in engineering from the partner institution.
