Bachelor's in Science & Mathematics
Introduction
Science & Mathematics is a Bachelor program taught at Bennington College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.
Science & Mathematics at Bennington College invites students to study astronomy, biology, chemistry, earth sciences, mathematics, computer science, and physics through focused academic questions. Students work in small seminars and in well-equipped facilities and labs, exploring how researchers, scientists, programmers, and mathematicians approach problems in different ways.
Students learn to do science by posing questions and figuring out how to address them from the time they arrive on campus. From the first year, they design and execute original research projects and work alongside faculty on their research. Students also design the content, structure, and sequence of their study and practice through their Plan, with resources inside and outside the classroom.
Course delivery includes opportunities such as observing the night skies through a computer-controlled telescope at the Stickney Observatory and gaining lab and field experience through a Field Work Term with collaborations. Faculty conduct research on campus and invite students to join their work in disciplines including biology, chemistry, physics, astronomy, computer science, and mathematics.
