Bachelor's Programme in Science, Bachelor and Master of Science

The Bachelor's Programme in Science gives an interdisciplinary education in mathematics, statistics, physics, chemistry, and computer and data science. Students build a common foundation in mathematics, programming, and scientific thinking before choosing one of four study tracks: physics, chemistry, mathematics and statistics, or computer and data science.

The programme takes five years in the 3+2 structure and is taught in English through contact teaching. The bachelor's part is 180 credits and takes three years. It includes common studies, a study track with basic and intermediate studies, and a bachelor's thesis.

University of Helsinki says the programme is for students who are curious about science and want a broad scientific perspective. It leads to the Bachelor of Science degree and prepares students for master's study at the University of Helsinki and for work that uses scientific knowledge.
