The Master’s programme in Business Analytics combines business and technology to build skills for managing and using digital data. It covers data acquisition and management, analytics theories and methods, tools and environments for solving real-life analytics problems, simulation and optimisation, research data, research reports, responsible and sustainable business, and the ethics of data gathering, management and analysis.
The programme is 2 years and is taught in English through contact teaching. Different courses use independent learning, blended teaching and online teaching. First-year studies include courses with mandatory face-to-face teaching on campus in Oulu. The second year gives more flexibility and lets students choose courses and deepen their expertise. The programme includes teamwork, project-based collaboration, an extensive Capstone project with external parties, and a 30-credit master’s thesis.
University of Oulu says the programme prepares experts in analytics for business, industrial, public and organisational contexts. It also leads to doctoral studies.
