Educational Sciences and Psychology, Doctor

The Doctoral Programme in Educational Sciences and Psychology is a multidisciplinary research programme in education and psychology. It focuses on how humans grow, develop, learn, and interact with social, cultural and ecological environments. The programme also studies the interplay of biology, ecology, culture and society, with research that addresses the needs of societies in change and a focus on Northern communities.

The doctoral degree includes 30 credits of studies that support the doctoral research. Study can be distance teaching, independent learning and contact teaching. The programme is linked to the faculty’s research groups and national and international research networks. The doctoral thesis can be a monograph or an article-based thesis.

The degree leads to Doctor of Philosophy (Education), Doctor of Philosophy (Psychology), or Doctor of Philosophy. The university says graduates work in research, development, teaching and management tasks requiring special skills and expertise in educational sciences or psychology.
