Doctoral Programme in Population Health and Human Behaviour

The Doctoral Programme in Population Health and Human Behaviour is an interdisciplinary doctoral programme at the University of Helsinki. It examines the causes, consequences, and distribution of health, well-being, disease, and disability in populations, as well as the causes and consequences of adaptive and maladaptive human behaviour and behaviour change.

The degree includes a doctoral thesis and 30 credits of coursework. Studies can include lectures, seminars, methodology courses, independent study, and specialist training. The degree includes discipline-specific studies, studies in general transferable skills, and international activities.
