The International Business Management master’s programme at the University of Oulu combines management and international business fundamentals with responsible, growth-minded and innovative entrepreneurship. It covers multinational corporations, international business frameworks, innovative and entrepreneurship-driven management principles, organisational change, strategy, change management, sustainable leadership and growth entrepreneurship.
The programme lasts two years and consists of four terms and 120 ECTS credits. The first academic year includes mandatory face-to-face teaching on campus in Oulu. In the second year, students choose courses and deepen their expertise according to their interests and professional goals. Teaching uses independent learning, blended teaching and online teaching as well as contact teaching. The master’s thesis is worth 30 credits and includes seminar sessions. Courses include company projects and internships, and many theses are written as company assignments. Students can also apply for exchange study opportunities or a double degree with KEDGE Business School in Bordeaux.
The University of Oulu says graduates can work in expert and management positions in Finland and internationally. The degree also gives eligibility to apply for doctoral level studies in International Business Management.
