Master of Business Administration, Service Design

The Master of Business Administration in Service Design is a 90 ECTS degree in business and administration. It is for holders of a Bachelor's degree who want to expand their knowledge of service design. The programme develops and deepens service design skills and competences and gives students a practical understanding of how to apply service design in practice.

The degree is organised as core competence studies, elective complementary competence studies and a Master's thesis. The thesis usually takes the form of a working life development project and starts at the beginning of the studies. Students create an individual study plan with a tutor teacher. The studies are planned to be completed alongside work and take two years. There are on average two to four contact teaching days per month, and students work mainly online.

Turku University of Applied Sciences says the programme combines design thinking, business and society. It emphasises teamwork, group work, research methods and future operating environments. Study assignments and the thesis can be connected directly to the student's work.

The programme is aimed at experts and leaders who have already become qualified in working life. Suitable previous education and work experience are required. It is for holders of a Bachelor's degree.
