Master's Degree Programme in Drug Discovery and Development, Master of Science

The Master’s Degree Programme in Drug Discovery and Development covers methods for identifying and validating new drug targets, generating lead drug molecules, and understanding clinical drug research and development. It also includes drug regulatory science, pharmacovigilance, study planning, biostatistics, translational medicine, and bioinformatics.

The programme combines theoretical and practical courses. These include drug discovery and development science, clinical trial design and clinical drug development, in vitro, ex vivo and in vivo methods in experimental pharmacology, bioinnovation and bioethics, and an independent research project presented in the Master’s thesis.

University of Turku says the programme trains students from around the world in an international environment. Graduates are eligible to apply for PhD programmes and pursue a doctoral degree.
