Master's Degree Programme in Health Technology, Master of Science (Technology)

The Master’s Degree Programme in Health Technology at the University of Turku covers medical data measurement and analysis, machine learning, data analytics, sensor technology, signal processing and Internet of Things technology. It also includes the basics of human physiology, medical sensors, biosignals, and the training and validation of machine learning methods on health data.

The programme lasts two years and is taught in English. Teaching uses lectures, practical exercises and group work. The structure has common studies in Health Technology, project work, business and language skills, a thematic module or minor subject, elective studies, and a Master of Science in Technology thesis. Project management, presentation and other working life skills are part of the studies, and book exams are rarely used.

The University of Turku says thesis topics may be provided by companies or completed in university research groups. The programme also offers student exchange, internship abroad and language courses.
