INVEST Master’s degree programme in Public Mental Health is part of the INVEST Research Flagship funded by the Academy of Finland. It focuses on epidemiology, mental health service systems, prevention, and interventions for children, adolescents, young adults, and families. The programme also gives special attention to interventions based on digital platforms, artificial intelligence, and virtual reality.
The programme is hosted by the Research Centre for Child Psychiatry. It runs for two academic years and combines lectures, seminars, workshops, group work, and individual work. The studies are organised into Major Studies and Research Methods in Public Mental Health, Minor Studies, Elective Studies, and a Master’s Thesis in Public Mental Health. An internship related to the field of study can be included as an optional course.
The programme is designed to prepare students for work in mental health service systems, prevention, research, and healthcare administration. It also provides a basis for PhD studies.
