The programme leads to a Master of Business Administration and is 90 ECTS credits. It covers technology law and the legal and ethical questions that arise in technology companies and other organisations. The compulsory studies focus on international technology contract law and negotiation, commercialisation of high technology, intellectual property rights, privacy, cyber resilience, data ownership, artificial intelligence, consumer and marketing law in digital consumer marketing, and the use and development of legal tech tools.
The studies are organised into core competence studies, complementary competence studies and a master thesis. The compulsory studies are 30 ECTS credits, the elective studies are 30 ECTS credits, and the master thesis is 30 ECTS credits. Laurea states that the compulsory studies are available completely online and are taught in English. Some teaching is scheduled online, and some study can be completed independently.
The programme also includes resilience skills, ethics, corporate social responsibility and ESG criteria. Students can choose elective courses from Laurea's common offering, from other universities of applied sciences, from online master-level studies in English, and, language skills permitting, from on-campus courses in Finnish. The studies also include internships, which, if possible, take place in the student's hometown or nearby areas.
