Regional and Environmental Economics MA

The Regional and Environmental Economics MA at Budapest University of Technology and Economics trains experts in regional and environmental economics. The curriculum includes theory-based courses in regional and environmental economics and policies, alongside applied sciences focused on development activities at the regional and local levels.

Courses are workshop-oriented, with group work to focus on local and regional aspects of actual global sustainability challenges. The programme combines foundations in Economics and Management and Natural or Social Sciences, elective courses, project management, applied methodology with quantitative and data-focused modules, and an applied science component. It concludes with a diploma project and thesis work.

For MSc programs, an eligible BSc degree is needed. Applicants must take an online entrance examination with two parts: an online test, followed by an online motivational interview for applicants who pass the test successfully. During the interview, applicants explain their professional interests, skills and training, and their motivation for joining the programme.
