The Renewable Energy and Sustainable Construction Engineer MSc at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (Faculty of Civil Engineering) is an international master’s programme for students aiming to work in sustainable construction and renewable energy. It combines civil and industrial engineering and covers engineering fundamentals, sustainable construction, energy efficiency, and renewable energy systems.
The programme runs for 4 semesters (120 ECTS). Students complete Foundations modules in civil and structural engineering fundamentals, including Civil and Structural Engineering Foundations, Structures, FEM for Civil Engineers, Building Physics and Sustainable Construction, Numerical Methods, Diagnostics of Constructions, and Digital Twins of Structures. Advanced Courses cover Wind Energy, Marine Energy, Solar and Earth Energy, Civil Engineering for Energy Infrastructure, and Humanities and Electrotechnics. The final semester includes a 4–6 month full-time internship in industry, research, or an NGO, plus thesis writing and defense.
