Bachelor of Science Education Honours Degree in Chemistry Hbsced 3 Years

The Bachelor of Science Education Honours Degree in Chemistry studies chemistry alongside education foundations and teaching-related modules. Students cover physical, inorganic, organic, and analytical chemistry across Part I and Part II, with additional chemistry modules such as Further Physical Chemistry, Further Inorganic Chemistry, and Further Organic Chemistry. Education modules include Psychological foundations of Education, Philosophical foundations of Education, Sociological foundations of Education, Communication Skills, Curriculum Design, Implementation and Evaluation, Research Methods & Statistics, and Pedagogics in Science Teaching.

Teaching and learning practice is supported through Secondary School Experience (AS203) and science education modules such as Applied Science Education (AS204) and Advanced Pedagogics. The programme includes a Research Project (CH370) in Part III and a final Applied Science Education component (AS403). The structure is organised into Part I, Part II, and Part III, with Part II requiring additional selected credits from listed science courses.

• Have obtained a Certificate in Education/Diploma in Education or other recognizable teaching qualification from an acceptable institution where the subject of study was strongly represented;
• Have a pass in A-Level Chemistry;
• Have a good pass in O-Level English and Mathematics;
• Have had at least two years of approved teaching experience at an institution recognized by the University; and may be required to pass a written/oral entrance examination set by the University in the subject to be studied.
