Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Economics

The Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Economics at Bindura University of Science Education is organised across four parts. In Part I, you study topics such as Economic Principles I, Statistics for Economics I, Mathematics for Economists I, and Economic Principles II, alongside Business Administration, Business Communication, Business Law, Company Law, Financial Accounting, and other supporting subjects.

Part II focuses on economics and quantitative work, including Labour Economics, Industrial Economics, Quantitative Methods, Introductory Econometrics, Macroeconomic and Microeconomics, and Public Finance I and Public Finance II, plus related topics such as Research Methodology, Entrepreneurship, Taxation, and Information Systems I. Part III includes Industrial Attachment and a Research Project. Part IV covers advanced economic theory and specialised areas such as Money and Banking, Econometrics II, and Strategic Management.

To qualify for normal entry into the Bachelor of Business Studies (Honours) degree in Banking and Finance at Bindura University of Science Education, prospective students, in addition to satisfying the minimum conditions prescribed under the General Regulations, must

• Have obtained at least five ‘O’ Level subjects including English Language and Mathematics passed with a Grade C or better,
• Have obtained ‘A’ level passes in at least two of the following subjects: Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Studies and Management of Business.

NB: Special or Mature Entry admissions shall be in accordance with the General Regulations.
