Bachelor of Science Honours in Agricultural Education and Extension

Bachelor of Science Honours in Agricultural Education and Extension at Bindura University of Science Education builds knowledge for agricultural education and extension work, supported by units across agricultural economics, sociology and ethics in agriculture, agricultural education and extension, statistics for agriculture, and introductory computer science. The programme also includes foundational work in plant science, soil science, animal science, principles of genetics, and agricultural biochemistry and microbiology.

Learning is organised in four parts. Part I and Part II combine agricultural education and extension with topics such as agricultural marketing, farm business management, organic farming, animal production, pasture and rangeland management, extension, entrepreneurship, GIS and remote sensing, and animal biotechnology. Part III includes a Research Project and AGP 301 Attachment. Part IV adds agricultural marketing and specialised production, animal nutrition, wildlife ecology and management, and agroforestry.

All applicants have to meet the following minimum requirements for admission prescribed under the general regulations (i.e.): have obtained at least five Ordinary Level subject passes including English Language and Mathematics passed with a grade C or better

• Passes at Advanced Level in at least two subjects as follows:
• Category 1: Any two of the following, Biology, Agriculture, Chemistry, Physics and Food Science.
• Category 2: Either Mathematics or Geography in addition to any one subject in Category 1.
