Tampere University’s Master of Science (Technology) in Automation Engineering covers factory automation, industrial informatics and robotics. The studies prepare you to design, develop and integrate factory automation and information systems, and to study robotics, including the fundamentals of robotics, control, and sensing and perception systems.
The programme is built around two advanced study modules. More than half of the studies involve laboratory assignments, hands-on exercises, practical learning, and the use of machines and devices in innovative learning environments. The master’s thesis is 30 credits, is completed individually, and must be related to Factory Automation and Industrial Informatics or Robotics.
The programme is designed for students with a background in an applicable field of engineering, proficiency in mathematics and physics, and strong programming skills. Tampere University says graduates can work in industry or continue towards a doctoral degree.
