About this program

Arcada’s Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology trains qualified ICT engineers for international careers. Students study programming, software engineering, database planning and management, web and mobile technologies, embedded systems, cloud and system architectures, and user experience and user interfaces. The course also covers the structuring, processing, visualizing and analysis of Big Data, software development with an emphasis on artificial intelligence, and graphic web design.

Teaching is practical. Projects, practical assignments and laboratory work play a major role. Students also build team-working skills and can deepen their studies during work placement. The degree includes a thesis module with 15 credits of thesis work and 15 credits of methodology studies.

Arcada says the programme is connected to departmental projects with in-house and external partners, and that students gain hands-on research, company excursions, internship possibilities and company thesis projects. Graduates can work with a wide range of tasks in various industries.
