About this program

Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering, Sustainable Product Development starts with engineering fundamentals. The studies cover applied mathematics and physics, technical mechanics, strength of materials, structural testing, manufacturing techniques, and engineering software such as modern CAD tools. You also learn to prepare technical documentation, drawings, 3D models, products and prototypes.

The programme includes a Finnish language course. It also covers work in multicultural student teams and cooperation with students from other countries. You can take part in student exchange at partner universities in Europe and, for one academic year, complete a double degree with a partner university in Germany or the Netherlands.

The degree includes basic studies, professional studies, free-choice studies, practical training and a bachelor's thesis. You complete part of the third-year studies as supervised project work in companies, and the thesis is mainly commissioned by industry.
