Energy Production, Economics and Sustainability, Master of Science (Technology)

In this major, you learn how to develop and optimise new energy technologies that are reliable, investment-ready and environmentally responsible. You also build the skills to evaluate their viability from both technical and economic perspectives.

The major is organised over two years. In year one, you are recommended to complete the compulsory courses linked to the Advanced Energy Solutions Master's Programme and the major. Year two is more self-directed and includes optional courses, the master's thesis, and the option to add minor and elective studies. The rhythm of teaching is six weeks of study and teaching followed by an assessment week.

Aalto University designs this major for students with a bachelor's degree in energy technology or a related field. It includes specialisation courses in Energy Technology and Economics & Environment, and you must take at least one course from each group.
