The Doctoral Programme in Humanities at the University of Oulu is a research degree in Humanities and Languages. It supports doctoral thesis work under expert supervision in areas such as languages, the Arctic, archaeology, history, history of science and ideas, communication studies, cultural anthropology, and environmental studies.
The degree includes 30 ECTS credits of studies in addition to the doctoral thesis. These studies are completed through a personal study plan. The thesis can be a monograph or a compilation of peer-reviewed articles with a summary.
