The Master's Programme in Real Estate Economics prepares students to understand real estate markets, shape urban development, and create value through the built environment. It combines economics, business, law, governance, and sustainable built environment management. Students build a broad understanding of the real estate sector and work on real-world challenges with industry and public sector partners.
The programme has 120 ECTS credits and a planned duration of two years. Major studies account for 60 ECTS, including 36 ECTS of compulsory and 24 ECTS of optional major subject courses. Elective studies account for 30 ECTS, and the master's thesis accounts for 30 ECTS. Aalto University designs the programme so that major subject studies can be completed during the first year, leaving the second year for elective courses and the master's thesis. Students are actively encouraged to spend a semester abroad.
The programme is intended to support diverse careers in real estate and to provide a foundation for doctoral studies.
