The Zimbabwe Open University Bachelor of Arts Honours in Culture and Heritage Studies prepares students to study culture and heritage through courses such as Introduction to Culture and Heritage in Africa, Introduction to Archaeology, Introduction to Museology, and African Civilisations. Students also cover topics including Indigenous Heritage Management System, Tangible and Intangible Cultural Heritage, Heritage Inventorying and Archiving, and Museum Curatorship.
The programme runs over four years and includes compulsory and elective modules across academic years and semesters. It combines classroom-based subjects, information and records management, communication skills, and work-focused learning through Work Integrated Learning in academic year 3. Students complete a Research Project, including initial registration in academic year 1 semester 1.
