Bachelor of Education Honours in Mathematics

The Bachelor of Education Honours in Mathematics at Africa University is an undergraduate part-time programme in the Department of Humanities & Social Sciences. It includes university-wide required general courses (8 credit hours), Education courses (15 credit hours), and courses in the Mathematics major subject area (45 credit hours).

The programme uses course credits across Mathematics, Education, and related areas. It includes courses such as Measurement and Evaluation, Introduction to Statistics, Linear Algebra, Plane and Solid Geometry, and Differential & Integral Calculus II. It also includes Research Methods, Curriculum Development, Content Methods of Teaching Mathematics, and a Project in Education.

Applicants must have a teaching certificate or diploma in Mathematics or its equivalent recognised by Africa University. Meeting the minimum admission requirements does not necessarily ensure admission. Admission is based on the number of places available and is awarded on the basis of merit. The College of Social Sciences, Theology, Humanities and Education reserves the right to interview candidates before admission.
