The Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Chemical Technology is a four-year programme with taught courses, a research project, and an industrial attachment. Taught courses cover broader areas of basic and applied chemistry, including general chemistry, analytical inorganic, organic and physical and polymer chemistry. Students also study applied areas such as plastic technology, medicinal, agro-chemistry, fermentation technology, pharmaceutical technology, materials chemistry, industrial chemistry, and mineral processing.
The programme includes pure chemistry courses, chemical technology courses, an industrial attachment, and a project. It is organised with a minimum of ten courses at Part I and a minimum of ten courses at Part II, followed by industrial attachment at Part III. Part IV includes a minimum of ten courses, including Research Project. Graduates can pursue further studies in chemistry at any university.
