The Master in Human Rights, Peace & Development at Africa University is a postgraduate full-time program that covers human rights, challenges to peace and non-violence, and sustainable human development. It focuses on the mutual interdependence and complementarity of these three areas and offers advanced education for students from different backgrounds.
The program includes taught modules and research work. Students study international and regional human rights systems, national protection of human rights in Africa, human rights peace-building and development, international criminal law and transitional justice, and research methods, followed by a research proposal defense and a dissertation. The program is located at the Main Campus.
