Master of Science in Livestock Science and Meat Technology

The Master of Science in Livestock Science and Meat Technology at Women’s University in Africa equips students with knowledge and skills for livestock production and management for large- and small-scale livestock farmers. The programme covers animal handling requirements, animal nutrition, animal breeding, animal health, and meat science, with a focus on how livestock nutrition, management principles, practices, and breeding affect meat quality.

Learning includes practical guidance, tools, and quality control practices. It addresses antemortem control factors such as breeding practices, health, and nutritional conditions of live animals, and it also covers the processing and packing of meat products before distribution across the supply chain. The programme runs for eighteen months and includes a research project in the last semester, supported by supervision and required consultation hours.
