The Bachelor of Engineering in Energy and Environmental Engineering gives students extensive knowledge in energy and environmental engineering. The studies deepen mathematics, physics and chemistry. Students in energy engineering study alternative energy production methods, energy use and distribution, and energy production facilities. Students in environmental engineering study water and waste management, air protection, energy technology, and the management and restoration of polluted environments.
Turku University of Applied Sciences describes the studies as practical and focused on working life. Learning takes place through theory, laboratories, team work, projects, online studies, and work placement periods. Students can also take student exchange as part of the degree.
The degree is 240 ECTS credits and lasts four years. The studies include basic studies, professional studies in water technology and/or circular economy, communication and language studies, internship periods, a thesis, and optional studies. Students can specialise in water technology or circular economy and choose studies from both areas.
