Bachelor of Engineering, Information Technology at Novia University of Applied Sciences in Vaasa focuses on information technology, programming and DevOps. Students study cyber security, graphic programming and basic game programming, cloud-based solutions, IoT, big data and AI-based systems. The programme also covers requirements analysis and the design of new IT solutions based on industry needs.
Novia University of Applied Sciences delivers the programme as daytime studies in English with contact teaching. It lasts two years and comprises 240 ECTS credits. The studies include previous university level studies, professional studies, elective studies, practical training and a thesis. Practical training can take place in companies and/or in research and development project groups, and the thesis is mostly carried out with companies.
The programme is meant for students who have already completed at least two years of university level studies in technology or engineering. Novia University of Applied Sciences says these earlier studies are accredited and included in the degree. The programme can lead to further master’s studies after graduation.
