Bachelor of Natural Resources, Sustainable Coastal Management

Novia University of Applied Sciences describes this Bachelor of Natural Resources programme in Sustainable Coastal Management as a course focused on coastal issues. Students study environmental challenges, human-nature interactions in natural resource management, planning with Geographic Information Systems, and the bioeconomy, with the Baltic Sea used as a case study.

The programme takes two years and includes core studies, professional studies, practical training and a thesis. Teaching is in English. The course includes project-based work, visits to companies, NGOs and other organisations, and practical training in a relevant organisation of the student’s own choice. Students can also complete exchange periods for study or practical placement.

Novia says the programme prepares students for work in coastal and environmental fields. It also says students make an individual career plan during the first year, and that many graduates continue to master’s study.
