Environmental and Ecosystem Ecology, Master of Science (Environmental Science)

The Master’s Degree Programme in Environmental and Ecosystem Ecology is a research-oriented programme in environmental science. It focuses on biogeochemical and ecological aspects of the environment, including the effects of environmental change on ecosystems and bioprocesses, especially interactions between the atmosphere and ecosystems.

The programme lasts two years and uses independent learning, contact teaching and blended teaching. Students study through lectures, exercises, book exams and hands-on training in research groups. The curriculum includes advanced studies in environmental science, a personal study plan, alternative studies, language and communication studies, and a master’s thesis with an experimental element.

The advanced studies are divided into the Biogeochemistry module and the Environmental ecology module. The programme also includes practical training in research institutes or other relevant workplaces.
