Master of Engineering, Data Engineering and AI

Turku University of Applied Sciences describes this Master of Engineering programme as a course for engineers in information technology, electronics, or telecommunications who already have professional experience and want to deepen their expertise in data management and artificial intelligence. The studies cover data collection, preparation, and transformation for data-driven applications, as well as machine learning processes and algorithms and artificial intelligence.

The programme is 60 ECTS credits. It combines common Master-level courses with advanced courses in the specialisation. The thesis is usually a work-related development project and is closely linked to the student’s professional tasks. The studies include advanced common studies, advanced professional studies, optional studies, and a Master’s thesis.

Turku University of Applied Sciences says the programme is planned and implemented in collaboration with working life. The studies are linked to the student’s workplace, and research groups may offer thesis topics related to data management and artificial intelligence.

• A Bachelor’s degree in technology from a university of applied sciences (Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Laboratory Services, Bachelor of Architecture, Bachelor of Construction Management)
• A technical university degree (e.g., Bachelor of Engineering, Master of Science in Engineering, Master of Science in Architecture) completed in Finland or abroad
• A post-secondary or higher vocational level diploma in engineering completed in Finland
• A post-secondary level diploma in architecture completed in Finland
• At least 24 months (two years) of work experience in the field of ICT accumulated as from the date of award of the eligible final degree certificate and obtained no later than by the end of the application semester (31 Jul / 31 Dec)
