Master of Engineering, Machine Intelligence and Data Science

Arcada University of Applied Sciences offers this Master of Engineering programme in Machine Intelligence and Data Science as a 60 ECTS degree in Information and Communication Technologies. It focuses on data science and engineering, including descriptive and predictive modelling, machine learning pipelines, data mining, visualisation, deep learning, foundation models, cloud and data engineering, and AI-assisted service design.

The programme is arranged as a one-year, full-time course of study delivered in intensive blocks. It has six sequential 5 ECTS core modules and a year-long Research Seminar integrated with the master's thesis. Arcada states that the teaching emphasises production-level code and the construction of analytical solutions.

The thesis project is 30 ECTS and is carried out as a development or research project for a client, such as an employer, or with Arcada researchers.

Applicants must have a suitable bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Natural Sciences or Business with a minor in IT or CS, or a similar field such as electrical engineering. Applicants must also have at least two years of relevant work experience gained after completing the bachelor's degree.
