Laurea University of Applied Sciences’ Master’s degree programme in Global Health, Crisis and Disaster Management is for health and social care professionals. It focuses on global health, applied epidemiology, disaster preparedness, and disaster response and mitigation. The programme is grounded in the WHO–ASPHER framework, the Triple Nexus approach and Planetary Health.
The degree is 90 ECTS credits. Laurea delivers it through blended learning at Tikkurila Campus in Vantaa, with monthly face-to-face days and online study. The programme follows Laurea’s Learning by Developing model. Students complete programme-specific core studies, joint core studies, complementary studies, and a master’s thesis that is typically carried out in the student’s own workplace or with a partner organisation.
Laurea says the programme builds expertise for roles in global health, disaster preparedness and response, infection prevention and control, applied epidemiology, health policy and governance, crisis management, and research, evaluation or consultancy in development cooperation, humanitarian assistance and peacebuilding.
